Samsung Galaxy A42 5G gets Android 11 based One UI 3.1 update

Samsung Galaxy A42 5G was launched back in November 2020 with Android 10 based One UI 2.5 skin at the top. The smartphone is now receiving its first major OS upgrade in the form of Android 11.

Skipping One UI 3.0, the Galaxy A42 5G is directly getting upgraded to the company’s latest One UI 3.1 skin. In addition to Android 11 and One UI 3.1, the latest update for Galaxy A42 5G installs February 2021 security patch for better security of the device.

The update is rolling out as an OTA and can be identified with the firmware version A426BXXU1BUB7. Talking about the changes, the update should bring Object eraser tool, Private share, Chat bubbles, One-time permission, Built-in screen recorder, Samsung free, Eye comfort shield, and more.

Samsung Galaxy A42 5G owners who are yet to receive the update can manually check for the latest update by navigating to Settings >> Software update then tapping on Download and install. If it shows no update available, then wait for few days and check again.
