Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S (Codename: curtana) users have reportedly started getting July 2020 security patch update. The device has started picking up the MIUI 11.0.10.0 Global Stable ROM. The update will bump the software version number from v11.0.9.0.QJWMIXM to V11.0.10.0.QJWMIXM.
This is a stable built so we recommend users to update their device to this build. The update is based on Android 10. Just like any update, this airborne update is rolling out Globally. This is a staged rollout so it may take some time to be available in all handsets.
The update brings software optimization and promises to provide a better user experience. Along with all the optimizations, it also improves the security and performance of the device. It also addresses many bugs which were reported in the previous build.
If your device is running on a Global ROM, only then you will get the update via OTA. Otherwise, you have to install it manually. The update is based on Android 10. You can manually check whether the update is available in your region or not. Go to Settings –> About Phone –> Check for Software Update.
