Xiaomi Redmi 8A is a budget smartphone from Xiaomi which was launched last year. The device came out of the box with Android 9 Pie with Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 custom skin.
The device is all set to get the Android 10 updates in coming weeks and there are reports that the Android 10 update is already under testing. The company may soon start the beta rollout for the device.
Xiaomi does not have a good track record when it comes to updating its budget devices to the latest mobile OS. But some users are still hopeful that the device will get the latest Android 11 a.k.a Android R update in future.
A Redmi 8A user asked this on Mi Community and a Mi community moderator took the question. The moderator answered and I quote “It may not get Android 11”
As of now, it’s very unlikely that Redmi 8A will be getting any major Android update after Android 10.
