This is a major update and comes with a lot of new features and improvements. The new iOS 17.2 update has become available for all devices running iOS 17 or newer build. It means that iPhone XR and newer iPhones like iPhone SE 2 and SE 3 will get the update. The update comes with the build number 21C62, which is the same as the release candidate rolled out last week.

The first major iOS 17 update dubbed iOS 17.1 came out in the second half of October and it brought along new features like AirDrop over the Internet.

  • Improved Telephoto camera focuses speed when capturing small faraway objects
  • Catch-up arrow will let you jump to your first unread message by tapping the arrow visible in the top-right corner
  • Memoji updates will give the ability to adjust the body shape of any Memoji
  • Precipitation amount will help you stay on top of rain and snow conditions over the next 10 days
  • Wind map snapshot will help you assess wind patterns and access animated wind map overlay for preparing for forecasted wind conditions for the next 24 hours

How to update to the new iOS 17.2 update?

If you own an iPhone XR or newer, you will be receiving the update. It might already be available so ensure that you check for the update by going to Settings -> General -> Software Update. Once you get the update, you need to tap “Update Now” and then restart your iPhone.
