[2022] Downlaod LineageOS 16 for Supported Devices (Android 9.0 Pie)

Updated: Some new devices have just received the update. Google has finally revealed the name of the upcoming Android 9.0 and it is Android Pie. The unofficial builds of Lineage OS 16.0 will be started coming after the stable release of Android 9.0 (P). Google has released the official Android Pie update a few weeks ago. All the Pixel devices have received the update. Google will release a total of 4 Developer Previews before the official stable Android 9.0 (P) release.

The latest Lineage OS 15.1 is now officially available for many new generation Android devices. Team Lineage released Lineage OS 15.1 skipping the Lineage OS 15.  There is no official information about the official release of Lineage OS 16. But we think it will come in a few months. But the unofficial builds are already made available for many Android devices. There are some unofficial builds and some GSI ROM available for some Android devices.

Lineage OS 16.0 Features and Release Date

Now let’s talk about Lineage OS 16 features. The LOS 16.0 will have all the Android 9.0 features as it will be based on Android 9.0 (P) source code. There is a rumour that Lineage OS 16 will bring the CyanogenMod theme engine back. But it will be great to see how Lineage gonna implement that feature as Google is going to block/disable custom theming on Android 9.0 (P).

The developer preview 1 has given all a clear indication of what the upcoming Android and Lineage os version will look like. It will come with Material design 2.0 and rounded icons with card-like features. The DP 1 Of Android 9.0 has a notch too which will help the developers to make their apps compatible with the devices which will have a notch. There are many Android devices which have come or coming with notches. Asus, Vivo and Oppo have already released their new devices with 18:9 ratio screen having a notch. Even OnePlus 6 is going to have a notch.

Lineage OS 16.0 Features

• Digital Wellbeing – We start off with the feature that will be impacting the smartphone usage the most. Ever since smartphones became mainstream, this will be the first time Google will actually be introducing tools to learn about smartphone habits and will also help moderate parts that require attention.

The users will get to see the amount of time they are spending on apps and will also get to set timers on such apps that happen to be addictive. App icons will turn grey when the user reaches the time limit.

• Adaptive battery – Just as the name suggests, this feature will learn the usage pattern of the user and it will help turn down battery consumption by restricting apps which are rarely used.
• Gesture-based navigation – This feature has become quite a necessity after the Android devices have taken to thin bezels and notched displays. The recent page can be accessed by swiping up from the bottom.
• Slices – This new feature will be providing app functions without actually having to enter them. In fact, whenever a user will search for a particular app, the search will prompt a few quick options related to that app which will make it really easier and quicker.
• Adaptive Brightness – This feature has got an upgrade where the device will remember the times you change the brightness of your device and adjust according to the time as well as brightness.
