List of Xiaomi Devices Getting Official Android 9.0 P Update: Xiaomi is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer which has been selling its premium smartphones in the markets around the world specifically India at a much aggressive pricing which has been the biggest plus point for the company in the recent times. Now, as far as Xiaomi is concerned, the company has just surpassed one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers, Samsung in the mid-range smartphone segment in India. As far as the smartphones from Xiaomi are concerned, the Redmi Note 4 became the No. 1 top-selling smartphone in India in 2017. Apart from that, the company has been selling other smartphones in the other Mi series’ in India as well.
Talking about the other smartphones from Xiaomi, we have known that the company launched the Mi A1 last year in India which was a huge hit among the Indian smartphone buyers. Apart from that, Xiaomi also launched the Mi Mix 2 last year as their premium flagship smartphone in Mi Mix series. Now, we have known that the Mi A1 has been upgraded to Android Oreo which is the latest version of Android as of now. However, the Mi Mix 2 is still pending to receive the Android Oreo update. Along with that, the recent launches form Xiaomi which are the Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro are not updated to Android Oreo as well.
We have known that the Redmi Note 5 series is soon going to be upgraded to Android Oreo. Apart from that, Xiaomi releases all their smartphones based on MIUI which is a custom skin of Android and the latest MIUI updates are released by Xiaomi to all their smartphones including even 4-year-old smartphones. However, the company is not keen on updating their smartphones to the latest version of Android it seems as the Redmi Note 3 which was launched in 2016 still runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. New Features In Android 9.0 P
Support For Notches – As you might have noticed all the latest premium smartphones that are coming out are having a top notch design just like iPhone X. Therefore, Google has included various implementations for the top notch designs that smartphones will come out with. As a matter of fact, Google Pixel 3 is likely to have a similar design.
Turn By Turn Direction – The new wireless protocol known as Wi-Fi Round Trip Time will enable the devices having Android P installed to do indoor GPS-style tracking. Of course, the device must have the necessary hardware and there are going to be various apps coming out based on this new technology. This is going to be helpful in big buildings like shopping malls. This is also going to help voice assistants to execute comments based on the room settings.
Multi-Camera Support – Android P comes with multi-camera API to access streams from two different cameras simultaneously. The bokeh effect will improve and you can zoom seamlessly. There are going to be various other camera improvements like faster photo capture, support for external cameras and likewise.
There will be new transition animations, HTTPS will become a default for apps, a lockdown mode to disable biometric especially when someone is forcing you to unlock your smartphone, an alert tone will be played if your call is getting recorded, no mic access for background apps, screenshot editing options and much more.
