Samsung One UI 4.1 Update: Features, Release Date, and Eligible devices

In November last year, Samsung officially unveiled the latest version of Android 12-based One UI 4.0 firmware.  Now, the South Korean OEM is taking things one step further and releasing an incremental update in the form of One UI 4.1.

From the past instances and release patterns, Samsung could introduce the new One UI software system initially on the Galaxy flagship models before releasing the update for other lineups. Similar to One UI 4.0, the One UI 4.1 will also be based on Android 12 firmware and come with several improvements. The One UI 4.1 software will debut with the Galaxy S22 series, which is rumored to be launched on February 8th, 2022.

One UI 4.1 features and expectations

One UI 4.1 is expected to add many enhancements and additions to the predecessor One UI 4.0 as it is set to debut with the Galaxy S22 series next month. As this will be a minor upgrade over One UI 4.0 and will be introduced with the Galaxy S22 series, the users shouldn’t expect any big changes or major features added. However, the update could introduce –

  • New, powerful S Pen features
  • Improved camera performance
  • Improved system performance
  • Better virtual RAM management
  • Extended battery life

Eligible devices for the One UI 4.1 update

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Series will already come pre-installed with the latest Android 12-based One UI 4.1 OS, although the brand will be looking to expand the availability of the new software update to other Galaxy devices within the first few weeks of the official launch.
